Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much do you charge?
I charge £40 per hour, sessions are a minimum of three hours.
  • Do I have to be there?
Most of the time – I work with you to achieve your goals and only you can decide what you want to keep or get rid of, so it’s a collaborative approach. If you are only looking to organise and not declutter and you want to leave me to complete the task, we can discuss the practicalities of this.
  • How long will it take?
It's very hard to tell and depends on the starting point, what you want to achieve and the pace you want to go, I can go super quick if you are ready to make decisions but often clients take a bit of time to get going. Sometimes clients do a bit of organising in between visits, but it’s your choice.
  • Are you going to make me throw things away?
No, absolutely not. It’s your stuff and it will be your decision, we will work together to decide what you need and want, we can then decide if anything needs to be donated or sold, but we will organise things so you can find them.
  • Is there a contract to sign?
All new clients are asked to sign my Terms and Conditions before we start work.
  • What if I have to cancel?
I work on the basis that we are both committed to the session once it’s booked, however life happens and sometimes a client will need to cancel or reschedule. I ask that you give as much notice as possible and if you have to cancel within 48 hours of the session, we can agree a fee that is reasonable for us both.
  • Do I need to buy anything before we start?
It is not recommended to buy any new storage items before we start, we may be able to use things you already have or once we decide if you need to buy anything I can help you source it while I work with you. It would be useful to have some black bin liners or empty boxes to pack anything we decide you no longer need.
  • Are you a cleaner?
I am not a cleaner but may undertake light cleaning duties of the area we are working on.
  • What are the benefits of decluttering and organising your space?
There are many benefits to organising your space, here are just a few: - Reduced stress and anxiety related to your belongings - Letting go of unnecessary possessions can be emotionally liberating - A clean, well-organised space enhances concentration and productivity - especially important for those working or studying from home. - Clutter can be mentally overwhelming. A tidy space fosters calm and reduces the cognitive load caused by visual chaos - A better sense of well being - Easily find things - Pride in your space - Daily activities like cooking, dressing, and cleaning become faster and smoother
  • What location do you work in?
    I work throughout Edinburgh.
  • Are you insured?
Yes, with Westminster , a copy of my schedule is available on request.
  • Do you take away the items for donation or bin?
I will help where I can, but I do not always have the car with me, if I do, I can take a boot load to the charity shop, however I can always support with organising uplifts if this is a barrier for you.
